Oyster Island Retreat is located on the Northern Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada.

Less than one hour from Vancouver via helicopter or float plane, guests may catch a flight from Vancouver International Airport or Vancouver Harbour direct to Oyster Island. Guests may also choose to arrive via private yacht charter and enjoy a spectacular 2.5 hour cruise up the Sunshine Coast. Alternatively, guests may wish to catch a ferry from Horseshoe Bay and drive 1.5 hrs to Egmont to catch a water taxi direct to Oyster from there.

We are located 15 minutes by boat to emergency ambulance service. We are located near Powell River General Hospital. In the event of a serious medical emergency, the Canadian Coast Guard can assist to coordinate an air evacuation or marine transport.

Yes. All bookings on Oyster include a provisioning & gourmet meal service. Preference sheets are sent out once a booking is confirmed. Guests must list all dietary restrictions and allergies prior to arrival. The main cabin guest fridge is stocked with breakfast provisions for guests to prepare at their leisure. An after breakfast clean up service is provided. Lunch & dinner are prepared in the island service kitchen and delivered to the main cabin to be served “family style” followed by a meal service clean up.

Yes. A selection of complimentary local beer & wine is provided along with your island rental.

Yes. Our 50ft dock can accommodate boats up to 60ft. Larger vessels are welcome to anchor in the neighboring Musket Island Marine Park and shuttle by tender to the island.

No.  Each bunkhouse has an assigned bathroom in the shower house building.  The bunkhouses are connected to the shower house by beautifully landscaped trails.  Guests who require close proximity to the bathroom may assign themselves to one of 3 bedrooms in the main cabin which includes a bathroom on the main floor.

Our island hosts manage the A to Z of your stay. Duties include: facilitating travel arrangements, greeting, luggage handling, orientation, house keeping, meal preparation, activity coordination and concierge service.

Yes. All guest areas have a high-speed internet connection. LTE service is also available from all local providers.
